Uzbekistan approves a new Commodity Nomenclature for Foreign Economic Activity
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14 May 2025, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed Resolution "On the Approval of the Commodity Nomenclature for Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan."
The document is aimed at improving customs administration and enhancing the transparency of foreign economic operations. According to the resolution, the key objectives of the approved nomenclature are the maintenance of codes of the Commodity Nomenclature for Foreign Economic Activity (CN FEA) in accordance with the rules of the World Customs Organization and the World Trade Organization, as well as the systematization of import customs duties and CN FEA codes based on a unified regulatory document.
The resolution also approves the List of Classification Codes of the CN FEA, which will serve as the basis for accounting, control, and statistics in the field of foreign economic activity.
Taking into account the changes and additions introduced into the Harmonized System of Description and Coding of Goods, from 2027 Uzbekistan will implement the practice of joint management of the CN FEA and the customs tariff, which will ensure more accurate and transparent classification of goods during import and export.
The implementation of these measures is expected to be an important step towards harmonizing the national customs system with international standards and simplifying procedures for participants in foreign economic activity.
