Ras Al Khaimah and Open World to launch blockchain-based loyalty program
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Open World, a leading Web3 solutions provider, to launch an innovative blockchain-powered loyalty program.
The partnership aims to create new opportunities for travelers through the integration of blockchain technology into tourism loyalty systems.
The MoU was signed at the Arabian Travel Market 2025, one of the industry’s largest events showcasing the latest advancements in tourism.
Under the agreement, a token-based reward program will be introduced in the emirate. This modern digital approach will enable visitors to Ras Al Khaimah to enjoy additional benefits and enriched travel experiences.
As part of the collaboration, RAKTDA and Open World plan to explore the use of blockchain in enhancing the tourism ecosystem through:
Personalized offers and curated itineraries;
Tailored recommendations and access to exclusive events;
Digital tokens as rewards for travel-related spending;
Secure transactions within Ras Al Khaimah’s tourism framework.
This initiative targets the tech-savvy, younger generation of travelers amid the global shift toward digital travel experiences. The project is designed to strengthen tourist loyalty from key markets such as North America, the UK, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Known for its diverse landscapes—from deserts and beaches to mountains and mangroves—Ras Al Khaimah offers luxury resorts, rich cultural and historical sites, and thrilling activities including the world’s longest zipline, the Jais Flight.
With the new rewards program, the emirate positions itself not only as a top leisure destination but also as a digital oasis where innovative travelers can earn and enjoy immersive tourism experiences.
The initiative reflects the flexible and collaborative nature of Ras Al Khaimah’s tourism sector, combining public and private efforts to drive innovation and increase visitor numbers.
Raki Phillips, CEO of RAKTDA, stated: “This is a bold step into the future of tourism. Ras Al Khaimah is the first destination to launch a token-based loyalty program.
